A former pastor of mine used to have a favorite saying. "Blessed are the flexible, they don't get bent out of shape.
How does that apply. Easy. Eight bags of luggage got lost in transit between Jamaica and Dominican Republic. Yep, a repeat of the lost luggage going from Sacramento to Jamaica. In both cases, the bags made it to the first stop but not the final destination.
However, undaunted, the training team pressed onward and completed day one of Dominican Republic teacher training without the benefit of toys, props, and changes of clothing. As I said, blessed are the flexible ...
With all that said, I have to admit that I love training here. The teacher trainees have a fresh and energetic outlook on whatever we teach. Today, we worked on different personally types they might find in the Sunday school classroom, learned a few songs, and shared a couple of stories. Have you heard the one about the sad man who owned a boat, and mansion, and an airplane? Well, he finally found the cross and Jesus and was filled with joy! It doesn't translate well into text, but involves a simple 8.5 X 11 piece of paper folded into a boat, then a house, and then an airplane. After some creative manipulation, a cross is revealed. You should have seen the smiles of delight.
In case you are interested, yes, our luggage was delivered to us about 5:30 this afternoon, so it is back to business as usual tomorrow morning.
Love you all. Thanks for the prayers.
May the Lord continue bless this ministry. It is one of Hope and Love.
May these kids and young people grow to keep the Lord in their hearts, follow His ways and share the love of Jesus with others all of their days.
Thank You, Lord, for luggage arriving not to be confused with "baggage" . Bless these beautiful servants hearts.
