Some Will Sow and Some Will Reap

John 4:36 tells us some will sow and some will reap. I think we all like to see the fruits of our labor but as missionaries we are just obedient to the calling often times as the sowers. The uniqueness about the Dominican Republic is most of the teachers are teenagers and some young adults. I believe strongly in pouring into the youth who are our leaders of tomorrow. We were blessed to hear a couple of stories of those who have attended more than one teacher training from Fifty5five.

One young man, Caleb, shared with Don how he had attended a training when he was younger. He had been acting up during the training and was dismissed by Theresa due to the disruption to the other teacher. He stated he learned about respect from that interaction.

Our missionary contact in the Dominican Republic shared how life changing the training for a young woman has been. She began attending our training sessions 5 years ago as a troubled young woman and now leads teams to our training. In fact, last year she ran the VBS. She is currently leading a team as she writes her thesis for college.

Psalms 145:4 One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. I want to encourage you to pour into the young people. They are our leaders of tomorrow. You may only be the sower but He may also give you a glimpse of the fruit.

Please pray for us as we deliver our final day of Teacher Training.

Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.…
