Workshops for Teachers

Images from the workshops and children's activities.

Fifty5five conducts workshops for any and all teachers who disciple children. Our trainers have over 25 years of experience training teachers to share the Gospel with children and help them organize a successful children's ministry program for meeting the needs of kids. Leaving trained workers in each country to continue the ministry to children is the core of our mission.  Workshops include such subjects as (but not limited to):

STORYTELLING
Learn to give students age appropriate Bible-based life skills through dynamic storytelling.  We will use the five senses, simple props, and many other ordinary methods for reaching into the hearts of children, planting God’s Word.

COSTUMES ON A BUDGET
Learn how to draw children into a Bible story by creating simple costumes or accessories with very little cost.

DISCIPLINE THROUGH LOVE AND LOGIC
The Love and Logic approach to discipline covers setting enforceable limits while teaching the students about making wise choices for themselves.  Misbehavior is handled with firm boundaries, lovingly applied.  The results can be less stress on children and teachers, building healthy relationship even while disciplining.

A GARDEN OF PERSONALITIES

Learn to bring out the best in each of 6 different personality types.  We’ll discuss the character of some people in the Bible -the positive traits and those traits that needed to be refined.  All this will help us identify the personalities of the children in our classrooms.  Then we’ll see how God can use us to form and shape them into those He can use in mighty ways!

WORSHIPING OUR LORD
Make a beautiful, worshipful noise unto the Lord! Learn new worship songs which engage children in the act of praising their God. Kids will want to join in using hand signs and body motions which speak of who God is.

MEMORY VERSE GAMES
Have fun while learning innovative games to help kids learn and retain God's Word. First into the brain, then into the heart!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Sundays aren’t the only time we can spend with our kids.  We’d like to help you structure and run a Vacation Bible School.  VBS can reinforce the Biblical message of salvation for your own church as well as reach out to unchurched children in your community.

ORGANIZING AND ENCOURAGING VOLUNTEERS
No matter how small your church, your program can be structured so as to use many people from your congregation in their specific area of giftedness. Learn how to create an atmosphere of loving fellowship while the work of the church gets done.

AGE APPROPRIATE TEACHING
Learn how to meet the needs of your students at whatever age or learning level they may be. You no longer will be shooting over their heads but will be getting God's Word right on target- into their hearts!

CRAFTS IN THE CLASS
Learn how to reinforce the Biblical Truths of your lessons through crafts that kids can take home to remind them of the lessons.  Cost need not be a factor if we get really creative!

LEARNING THROUGH OBJECT LESSONS
Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words.  We can show you how to use ordinary objects to illustrate Biblical lessons so they remain in the mind and heart.  Learn how to make complicated Spiritual Truths understandable to children of all ages.

TEACHING WITH PUPPETS
We can help you make puppets your teaching partners!  Learn how to make them come alive, take on a personality and help extend children’s attention span. We will be making puppets during our training sessions.

We have had as few as 10 teachers and as many as 700. The only limiting factors for the number of teachers are the sound systems and available space. The workshops are interactive and very hands-on for the teachers attending. The fun factor is big, which eventually carries back home to the kids in their churches! We ask the hosting ministry to invite as many teachers as possible from all denominations in their area. This makes the maximum use of our services while unifying the family of God
